What does Scott Barrett stand for?
The people of regional NSW. Scott entered Parliament with a genuine to desire to promote and protect regional NSW – our activities, our industries and our way of life. He firmly believes regional NSW is the best place to live, work and raise a family and uses his time in Parliament to make sure this remains the case and fight to see this amazing place continue to get better every single day.
Fighting for Regional NSW
For a strong NSW, we need strong regions.
As a genuine product of regional NSW himself, Scott is well aware of this. Having spent the bulk of his life living in or working for regional areas, he is determined to make sure our regional areas remain strong and continue to be the backbone of our State’s success. With a passion that only comes from being from regional NSW he will listen and fight for the people and communities that make up this great part of the world.
Promoting and Protecting our Primary Industries
Scott is passionate about agriculture, he respects our land and our farmers and values our family farms knowing well that this is was our country was built on. With a degree in Agriculture from UWS Hawkesbury (Hawkesbury Ag College), Scott also has plenty of practical experience in ag having worked with sheep and cattle, in vineyards, orchards and many other farms around the central west in particular. He’s worked with fencing contractors and spent a great deal of time in shearing sheds, even picking up the hand piece from time to time.
Supporting our community organisations
Across regional New South Wales Our community groups, organisations and sporting clubs are critical to our regional towns and communities and we must support them.
They provide a connectedness and sense of community unique to our regional towns and friendships that last a lifetime. As someone who has a long history of involvement in thse organisations, Scott understands the importance of these groups to our regional communities and the people who love there.
Securing a future for our country kids
As a father himself, Scott wants to make sure there is a strong future for his kids and others throughout regional NSW. There are challenges living in regional areas but they are well outweighed by the benefits. Scott remains determined to work tirelessly to ensure that regional NSW continues to get better every single day.
